The 4th and 5th grade pull-out portion of PROPEL Academy is coordinated and instructed by Kristi Wilshire. Students who have been identified for PROPEL receive 2.5 hours of instruction per week at  the PROPEL room, which is housed at Covington Elementary School. Each week the PROPEL students travel by bus to Covington, returning to their home school when finished with the day's sesson.

While at the PROPEL room, students receive instruction in creative problem solving, advanced research topics, leadership skills, critical thinking skills, and more. A small amount of weekly homework may be assigned, depending on the skills covered and the time of year.
